This part of my DP will highlight some of the activities or investigations that we do in our math/physics class.
Lights out
One activity we did in our class was the "Lights Out" activity. In this activity, we learned how to make a flash light out of a battery, a wire, tin foil, and a bulb. After we created our flash lights, we tested them in the staff bathroom were it was pitch black. When the flashlight went on, the entire room lit up. It was so cool.
Marchmallow challenge
Another activity that we did in our Math/Physics class was the marshmallow challenge. In the marshmallow challenge, there were teams made up of about three to four people at each table. The main objective of the activity was to build a tower out of raw spaghetti noodles. After the tower was steady and stable, we were required to place a marshmallow on top of the tower to see if the tower would hold. Sadly, our tower did not stand after we put the marshmallow on top. The purpose of the challenge was to work as a team to come up with a plan for the tower for the marshmallow to stay ontop of the tower.
Barbie bungie lab
In this challenge we were given a toy barbie and the instructions were to tie rubber bands to the foot of a barbie to see how far it would go to the ground. So we had to make an estimated guess on how many rubber bands that we would need to make the barbie fall close to the ground without the barbie hiting the ground. Sadly my group did not win the compettition but we got pretty close.
