The Pringle Challenge
Brief Description:
The requirements for the challenge were to make a package that would hold single pringle snack for an entire two flights across California. The challenge scores were based on tackiness score and mass and volume.
Components:
My group used a cardboard box and lined paper for our first pringle box. Our second box, or should I say envelope, was just made of a single envelope that my group created. My groups philosophy behind the envelope strategy was that the score was based on overall intactness score and mass x volume. The strategy behind the cardboard box is that we tried to make a box that would be able to protect the pingle through the two flights and have the box weight little as possible. So we only used light materials to make the package.
Competition Results:
Our envelope won first place because of the scoring system, and our box with paper came in fourth out of all the rest of the groups.
How to calculate your score:
you calculated your score by putting your intacness score over the mass and volume of your package then multiplied your answerr by one-hundred.
Reflection:
I thought the pringle challenge was a good project to learn about how to make a package to be able to have a pringle travel to northern California and back. We also learned how to work together to make a package to hold an extremely fragile object across California. I thought the pringle challenge was a great experience.
